Stock Types
Scholls Valley Native Nursery, LLC Stock Type and Coding
Stock types are determined by the number of growing seasons, the number of times our materials are
transplanted, and/or the container size that the material is sold in.  Since we over-emphasize root
development, we do not sell materials based on the size of the top.  However, by-and-large the more growing
seasons, the larger the plant material.

Container Sizes
Our container sizes include trays of plugs in 38 (5 1/2" deep) and 51 (3" deep) cells, 2-4" pots, 5 1/2" tall
band pots, larger width band pots, and #1 up to #5 pots (formally 1-5 gallon containers).
Plug
 Seeds are sown in plug trays and sold in that form after one season.
Bare-root Seed mp
 Seeds are grown in plug trays for half a season, then transplanted to nursery
soil for the remainder of the season.
Bare-root Seed p
 Seeds are grown in plug trays for one season and transplanted to nursery
soil for one season.
Bare-root Seed
 Seeds are sown directly into nursery soil and grown for one season
Bare-root Seed 1-1
 Seeds sown in nursery soil and grown for one season, then transplanted for
a second season.  For each transplanted season, another -1 is added.
Bare-root Seed 2
 Seeds are sown directly into nursery soil and grown for two seasons before
lifting.  For each transplanted season, another -1 is added.
Rooted Cutting
 A cutting from a plant grown in nursery soil for one season.  For each
transplanted season, another -1 is added.
